Hello! As most of our family and friends know, Derek and I recently relocated to Hawaii for his job. After a long and annoying road, we have finally closed on a house. After many years living the apartment life, we finally have a place to call our own and we couldn't be happier!
This is a big and exciting first for us! Not only are we excited about the idea that this house and the land it sits on is ours (we own half an acre of land!), but we now have all of these decorative ideas bursting out of us. These ideas come from years of "when we own a house" daydreaming and simple inspiration of looking around and thinking "we could really put this here" etc., (of course my new found love and addiction to Pinterest is influencing quite a bit of it).
When we first moved, I was so excited about living here, I had originally decided that I would start a Youtube channel for our friends and family to show our new Hawaiian life. Well, you can see how well I've done with that. Instead, Derek decided a better way would be through this blog. We are so excited about this new chapter of our lives and the biggest part of it is our new house. We are working towards turning this house into our home and that is the point of this blog. We would like you to join us on this journey as we work our way towards this goal.
Here we will be sharing with you the various projects, improvements and items we get to make that goal happen. If you are interested, please stay tuned as we work our way through being first time home owners.
